RAE’S READS

The purpose of this little “game” is to copy the first line or two of a book you have just started or one you will read soon. Maybe you can use the same book for your Tuesday Teaser and include it as a book you are currently reading on WWW Wednesday. By Thursday, you will be ready to review the book! (LOL)

My Friday First lines are from a book a friend donated to my LFL (Little Free Library) which I decided to read first. Written by Florence Littauer, It Takes So Little to Be Above Average, has been an interesting, non-fiction read. Here are the book’s first lines:

“Some women want to run everything they can get their hands on, and others would rather die than become involved with leadership Whatever type you are, the day may come when this kind of responsibility falls upon you, and you find yourself precariously unprepared.”

Some of the book is relevant to my life, and some, because I am retired, is not. However, it never hurts to strive for excellence in all we do, and I believe the book will be helpful reading.

How very apt, Rae – a bit like greatness/responsibilities being thrust upon us? Which does happen – as you say.

I never thought greatness would be thrust upon me, but unasked for leadership responsibilities have followed me all of my life. Even as I start a new phase in being retired, I am taking on more responsibilities in both volunteering jobs.
