Laboring to finish my library books is the name of the game right now. Instead of warming up my casserole, I ate while reading This Tender Land

I had read less than half the book, and it is in large print, so I did not stop for a lunch break. Instead I had half a bologna and mustard sandwich and a Dr. Pepper while I continued to read. As dessert, I ate a handful of candy corn, and later snacked on white cheddar popcorn. I am now on page 379 and need to get up from the bed and change my activity.

This Tender Land is by an author I have the greatest admiration for, William Kent Krueger. His Saving Grace is right up there in the top books I’ve read in 2022. This one echoes Huckleberry Finn, as it narrates…
